Day 1 - SHANNON & KILLARNEY
Take delivery of Hertz rental car and tour via Bunratty Folk Park
and Bunratty Castle, to the city of Limerick and on to the picturesque
village of Adare. Tour to Killarney, set beside the Lakes of Killarney at the foot
of the mountains. Stay in Killarney this evening.
Day 2 - DINGLE PENINSULA
Tour the spectacular Dingle Peninsula. The thriving fishing port
of Dingle Town, the spectacular Slea Head Drive, Blasket Island
Center and Gallorus Oratory. Return to Killarney via Tralee, home of
the Rose of Tralee festival. Stay in Killarney this evening.
Day 3 - KILLARNEY
Irish Jaunting Cart ride through the Killarney National Park, to
Ross Castle. Drive to the spectacular viewpoint of Aghadoe followed by a
leisure afternoon. Enjoy traditional Irish music in a pub this evening. Stay in Killarney this evening.
Day 4 - BLARNEY & CASHEL
Tour across the Derrynassart Mountains and through Macroom, the birthplace of William Penn, the founder of the State of Pennsylvania. Continue on to Blarney. Stop
at Blarney Castle to climb to the battlements of the castle to kiss the
famous "stone of eloquence." You'll
have time to visit the Blarney Woolen Mills for traditional Irish
handcrafts, fashions and crystal. Tour on to Cahir, visit Cahir Castle, the 12th century home of the Butler family. On to the town of Cashel. Stay in Cashel this evening.
Day 5 - CAHIR & CASHEL
Visit the spectacular Rock of Cashel, a cathedral fortress overlooking the countryside.
Continue on to KIlkenny, an visit the 12th century Kilkenny Castle. Cross the horse breeding county of County Kildare and on to Dublin where you overnight near Dublin Airport or extend your stay in Dublin City.
Day 6 - DEPART FOR HOME
Drive to Dublin Airport. Depart for home.

Many of the sites mentioned in the itinerary are (OPW) Office of Public Works sites and you can purchase a Heritage Card at the first site, perhaps in Dublin at the Botanical Gardens. The card cost is €16 for seniors and €21 for adults and is good for one year from date of issue and includes admission and guided tour to over 100 sites in Ireland. The Heritage Card will come in handy for visits to National Botanical Gardens, Dublin Castle & the State Apartments, Kilmainham Gaol, Muckross House, Ross Castle, Blasket Island Center, Gallorus Oratory, Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle, Kilkenny Castle, plus many more!
